Though our roots are in documentaries, our founder and CEO is also an award-winning playwright. This passion for storytelling has led us to the world of animation, where we’re bringing bold and uniquely Scottish stories to life—one frame at a time.

Agley the mouse

Agley is a cheeky and curious mouse with ADHD and autistic traits who spends his days making mistakes—and learning from them—at the museum he calls home, with help from his adopted family. His adventures celebrate curiosity, kindness, and second chances.

Selected for Move Summit’s inaugural Big MOVE Pitch, the project quickly secured development funds from Screen Scotland and an LOI from a Canadian broadcaster, paving the way for an exciting co-production partnership. Agley’s story is already tickling whiskers, with the series being written by one of the writers of Hey Duggee and featuring Bob Harris as the voice of one of the characters.

Animated Feature
(in paid-development)

Flavio is a warm-hearted Italian immigrant with a mysterious past who dreams of creating the world’s best gelato—right in front of Glasburgh Castle. With the help of Archie, a young Scottish-Ghanaian boy with a passion for ice cream, and Valerie-Hazel, an aspiring aviator determined to defy expectations, Flavio navigates saboteurs, eccentric rivals, and the looming threat of war to win the Golden Scoop Competition. Their adventures celebrate diversity, courage, and the power of following your dreams.

Created and co-written by Kristina Tsenova, a Glasgow-based artist with a background in 2D and 3D animation and a finalist for
Rookie of the Year at Disney Research, and co-written by Cecile Durel, a Glasgow-based playwright whose work has been supported by the Playwright’s Studio Scotland and recognised at the St Andrews Playwriting Awards, Flavio brings a rich tapestry of cultures and talents to the screen. Selected for Screen Scotland’s prestigious First Features Fund, the project has secured early development funding to refine its script and story, promising to scoop hearts worldwide with its heartfelt storytelling, visually rich world, and universal themes.

Photon Starblaster and the Suicidal Spaceship

Photon Starblaster is a renegade-galactic-agent-turned-smuggler who’s just blown up Earth—accidentally. As he rushes to escape, his spaceship starts self-destructing. Except... none of it’s real. Photon is actually John, a 12-year-old boy with ADHD, escaping into a sci-fi world to cope with losing his father to suicide. Blending action, comedy, and heart, the story explores grief and the power of imagination.

The show premiered at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe, where it received nothing less than four-star reviews across the board. Starburst Magazine called it “courageous, charming, relevant, and intelligent,” while All Edinburgh Theatre praised its “bags of imagination, skill, and drive.” The production also won the C-Arts Spark Fund Award and was selected for GFF’s “My SMASH Media Live Pitching” event and the Galway Film Fleadh Stowe Story Lab. Now, the IP is being developed into a live-action and animation hybrid short film with Naomi Walmsley (BAFTA-winning Float) producing and Bonnie and Braw MD, John McEwan-Whyte, writing and directing.
